PSC’s First iPhone Application Available for Download - Crain’s Chicago Golf Guide

June 10 2009

One of the things I love most about working at PSC is that I get to work with technologies other than my passion with Lotus products. One of the areas that PSC is starting to invest in is mobile applications. Just as we do with all of our technology services, we consider mobile applications to be a strategy - and we work with multiple platforms. We have Blackberry applications we have built for customers, but the iPhone gives us a more public way to talk about these.

The first iPhone application that we have on the Application Store is for Crains Chicago Business' Golf Guide.

The Crain's Chicago Business Golf Guide application is an extension of the Crain's Golf website. The app allows you to located a golf course in the Chicagoland area. Enter your current location, click Find a Course!  It will give you back a listing of course in your area. Clicking on a course will give you information about it.

You get the course's address, phone number, and info about Fees and Reservations. You can get the course mapped with a single click. Making a course a favorite and searching for a source is also supported.

You can filter the results based on Price, Rating, and Slope.

The Browse All function shows you all of the courses that Crain's Chicago Golf indexes.

I know the team has ideas for more features. I would like to see GPS location and booking reservations right from the application.

Congrats to the team at PSC who put this together!
