So how many folks in Chicago are going to the Lotus Collaboration Summit tomorrow at Navy Pier? You can still RSVP. After the event, IBM is hosting a free screening of The Dark Knight in IMAX at 3 PM. If you have not RSVP'd for the movie, just tell the folks at the registration desk. How cool of IBM to do this! Seeing the movie of the summer in full IMAX glory in the city it was filmed (at a location in the movie)!

I am not sure how I can put into words a review that sets myself apart from everyone else who has written reviews on the web the past week. So I wanted to cover things that I have not read elsewhere ... Yes, the movie is amazing. Yes, it broke both first day and first weekend numbers of Spiderman 3. But here is some personal thoughts: 1. This movie was a Chicago travelog. Since we did not see Arkham Asylum in the movie, there was no need to do any CGI on the cityscape. That was Chicago. But not just Christian Bale actually standing on the Sears Tower, you saw Navy Pier and the building I live in. Multiple times! How cool was that. 2. Not only was the city view Chicago, but so was the courtrooms, the locations of the press conferences, the funeral for the Commissioner, Lower Wacker drive for the underground chase scenes (and no clue how they got a semi truck down there). I saw places I walk, eat at , and just drive in almost every scene. 3. The building at the end under constructi
I probably was one of the last people to see Iron Man. All of my travel kept me out of movie theaters last weekend, but I made sure I got to go this weekend. I went to a digital projection at the River East 21 AMC Theaters here in Chicago. What can I say about Iron Man? Well first, Robert Downey, Jr. - welcome to the big time! He was a perfect Tony Stark. You believed he was a boozing, womanizer gazillionare. You believed he was mechanical. You believed he was Iron Man. As for the movie, I could nitpick a bit. Such as you knew Jeff Bridges was going to turn out bad, because you didn't meet the rest of the board. Loved the Nick Fury piece at the end of the credit though :-) But the real surprise for me was The Dark Knight trailer attached to Iron Main. It is the third trailer .. and WOW! See to me, The Joker has never been portrayed properly on screen. Jack Nickelson took the TV show Joker and gave it a spin, but the Joker in The Dark Knight comic is my Joker. Blood Thirsty. Two new movie posters for the movie I am most looking forward in 2008 ...
